Every invention starts with a squiggle.

Kit wants to fix Mia's tippy juice but freezes in front of a blank page. Sparks introduces Marco, a joyful boy covered in marker smudges who draws on everything: paper, napkins, even his own shoes. Marco does not teach Kit to draw well. He teaches Kit to draw at all.

Marco's rule is simple: do not worry if it is squiggly. Just draw. Kit picks up a pencil and makes a wobbly, uncertain shape. Marco beams at it like a masterpiece. "PERFECT!" Kit draws another. And another. And another. Each one gets bolder and messier and more fun. By the end, Kit's sketchbook is covered in a beautiful mess of squiggles, blobs, and shapes with legs, and one of them looks like something. "THAT one!" Kit shouts.

This is the first book in the Making phase (Books 5 through 8), where Kit transitions from noticing the world to actively creating in it. The lesson is simple but powerful: drawing is thinking made visible.
