"I made that." Three small words. The hardest ones to say out loud.

Kit has a working invention, the Steady Sippy, but when it is time to show friends, Kit freezes. He whispers. He looks at the floor. He cannot say the words out loud. Sparks introduces Ren, a calm boy who speaks softly but firmly and always makes sure people get credit for what they create.

Ren puts a hand on Kit's shoulder. "Say it PROUD." Kit whispers: "I made that." Ren shakes his head. "Louder." Kit tries again. "I made that!" "LOUDER!" And finally Kit shouts it with arms spread wide: "I MADE THAT!" Everyone cheers. Confetti falls. The room explodes with celebration.

Then something important happens. Another kid reaches for the invention and says, "I want to say I made it." Ren steps in, not angry, just clear: "That's Kit's. Kit made it. You can make YOUR own thing to be proud of!" The kid smiles. "Okay!"

Two connected lessons in one story: the pride of claiming your own creation, and the fairness of respecting someone else's. In patent law, being named as the inventor is both a legal right and a moral one. That right starts with the courage to say it out loud.
